The pink dress on the royal mile

the story of A Real micro-Wedding at Edinburgh City Chambers

In the heart of Edinburgh, amidst the cobblestone streets and ancient architecture, a love story unfolded. Robyn and Fraser, accompanied by their closest friends and family, journeyed from Birmingham to Edinburgh for a micro wedding that was as intimate as it was unforgettable.

The day began in a quaint apartment just off the Royal Mile, where Robyn and Fraser prepared to say "I do" surrounded by the ones they hold dear. As a documentary wedding photographer, I had the honor of capturing their day, from the quiet moments of anticipation to the joyous celebrations that followed.

The streets of Edinburgh provided the perfect backdrop as always. From two epic confetti moments on the Royal Mile (Robyn took my advice that more is more and ran with it..!) to intimate photos in key spots around the city.

Following the ceremony, we wandered through the city, pausing at a few locations that held significance for Robyn and Fraser including Grassmarket and The Vennel.

As the day drew to a close, we rejoined their loved ones at a cozy pub for speeches and shared laughter—a celebration of love in its purest form. It was a reminder that amidst the chaos of wedding planning, what truly matters is the love that fills the spaces between, the quiet moments of connection, and the memories that last a lifetime. This wedding will be one I think about for a while - not least because of Robyn’s amazing pink dress!
