Rosebery Steading Wedding - Alicia & Tom’s Autumn Day
Alicia & Tom’s Rosebery Steading Wedding
Alicia and Tom got married at Rosebery Steading last October, and the weather played ball: bright sunshine, crisp air, not a drop of rain.
A Midlothian wedding venue where everything happens on site
Rosebery Steading sits in the Midlothian countryside, about 35 minutes from Edinburgh. Getting ready, ceremony, dinner, dancing and bed all happen on the estate. Alicia got ready in the Dairy and Tom in the Farmhouse, and the families stayed in the cottages. The accommodation is gorgeous. Logistically it’s a dream, and with that much space it never feels squashed.
A ceremony at Rosebery Chapel
The chapel sits in the grounds of Rosebery House, just across the road from the Steading. David Elder led the ceremony, with a hand-fasting and readings from Isabel and Anita. Then it was out the doors for confetti in full sunshine.
Portraits in the gardens
We used the Rosebery House gardens for the group shots and couple portraits. There were autumn colours, a beautiful house behind us, and plenty of room to wander. Less posing, more living.
Autumn wedding styling with fruit
The styling was packed with seasonal fruit, and I loved it. It was a wee bit unexpected and completely right for October.
Speeches, cake and a ceilidh
Speeches came before dinner, then evening guests arrived to cocktails and fire pits in the courtyard. Fala Ceilidh Band got everyone up, and Tom’s pals took over the decks to finish the night.
Photographing a wedding at Rosebery Steading
Everything’s on site. Less time travelling means more time for the real stuff.
Use the gardens. Rosebery House is a stunning backdrop for groups and portraits.
Plan for the wee hop across the road between the chapel and the Steading. The venue team have it sorted.
Rosebery, I’ll be back… I hope!
